Back when both fighters were champions, MacDonald — the welterweight king at the time — moved up to challenge Mousasi for his crown in the Bellator 206 headliner in September 2018. If the Canadian had emerged victorious, he would have become the promotion’s first-ever two-weight champion.
However, Mousasi proved to be too big and experienced for the “Red King” as he finished him with brutal ground and pound in the second round of their title contest.
Op zaterdag 22 juni staat Nederland’s beste MMA vechter Gegard Mousasi tegenover jiu-jitsu meester Rafael Lovato Jr. Tijdens Bellator Londen. De laatste keer. Watch Bellator 206: Pico vs. Higo on-demand on DAZN US, in HD and on any device. $99.99 for an entire year or just $19.99 for the flexible monthly plan.
You can watch it below courtesy of the Bellator MMA YouTube channel:
Mousasi would later lose his middleweight title to Rafael Lovato Jr. while MacDonald would get outpointed by Douglas Lima to be unseated as welterweight champion. With Lovato recently stepping away from the sport, Mousasi is now set to face Lima for the vacant title.
Meanwhile, MacDonald departed the promotion late last year and is set to make his PFL debut later this year.
Looking back at the fight, what do you make of it now?Should MacDonald have never been in the cage with Mousasi in the first place?
© Provided by FansidedFans are going to get a double dose of Bellator on Saturday with Bellator 248 and Bellator Paris airing back to back in an MMA doubleheader.
If you want to watch Bellator on Saturday, it'll be wise to keep some things in mind. First off, these are two different events and will feature two different cards. For Bellator 248 the card is four fights deep and will feature the debut of a major prospect in Ross Houston in the main event against one of Bellator's more established stars, Michael 'Venom' Page. Then the main event of Bellator Paris will see French MMA legend Cheick Kongo take on Timothy Johnson in the main event of that show.
If you want to see both cards, you're going to have to do some surfing. Not actual surfing, however. Just so we're clear.
Bellator 248 (CBS Sports Network – 11:30 AM ET)
Bellator 248 will air live on CBS Sports Network starting at 11:30 AM ET. That means if you want to watch it live, and you live in California, you'll need to be up at 8:30 AM PT to watch the first event. CBS Sports Network will be airing Bellator 248 replays throughout the day, in between its college football coverage. There are no prelims for Bellator 248.

Bellator Paris Prelims (Bellator's YouTube Channel – 2:00 PM ET/7 PM BT)
For Bellator Paris, things get a bit dodgy for American viewers. Instead of just staying on CBS Sports Network, everything switches to Bellator's YouTube. The prelims for Bellator Paris are set for 2:00 PM ET (stream will start at 1:45 PM ET). So if you're not wanting to watch anything but MMA for about eight hours, Bellator has you covered, as there might not be much of a break at all between Bellator 248 and the Bellator Prelims. To watch the Bellator Paris prelims, just go to the Bellator YouTube channel.
Bellator Paris Main Card (Bellator's YouTube Channel/Channel 5 – 5:00 PM ET/10 PM BT)
Now, this is where things may get confusing. If you're in the US, stay tuned to their YouTube channel. Fans in Canada may be able to watch the stream as well, though that's not been confirmed yet. For British fans, Channel 5 will be airing the main card at 10 PM local time.
